The Amazing Race!

On Friday I watched the season finale of the reality TV show “The Amazing Race”! Every Thursday after work I watched the show with two of my co-workers (Tim and Corinne) and it would be the excitement of the night! It’s awesome to think that we downloaded a whole season (9)  of the show and watched it in Korea! Before I came to Korea I thought I would have to give up all of my favourite TV shows I like to watch back home but then when I started working at Connexus one of my co-workers (Tim) told me we can download TV shows from the internet! Isn’t the internet great?! The best thing about downloading TV shows from the internet is you can watch it whenever you want and skip the commericals!!
I’m not really into reality TV shows but I love the Amazing Race!! You may ask why? Well, if you don’t know much about this show basically it’s about a race around the world to get 1 million dollars. It starts off with eleven teams of pairs from pre-existing relationships (brothers, sisters, parents & children, friends, couples who are dating or married) and each pit stop around the world there’s an elimination (there is also 3 or 4 non-elimination rounds too). Until finally at the last lap to complete the race around the world there’s three teams left to race to the finish line. Phil Keoghan is the host of the show and he does a great job to keep the teams in suspense when he tells them what position they are in at the pit stop!
This season (9) the teams began the race in the United States, then went to nine other countries: Brazil, Russia, Germany, Italy, Greece, Oman, Australia, Thailand, Japan and back to the United States.  I don’t just watch it because of the money part but I love to watch it because the teams get to travel around the world and do all these cultural activities. They get a taste of all the different cultures of the world, see all these countries and just experencing all that would be incredible! It would be very stressful because it’s a competition but at the same time very exciting!!
So…the final 3 teams were: best friends: BJ and Tyler, best friends: Eric and Jeremy and dating couple: Ray and Yolanda. The final race to the finish line was very intense and exciting because two of the teams were (BJ & Tyler and Eric & Jeremy) both trying to put the flags in order of the countries they went to and it was very close! BJ and Tyler ended up beating Eric and Jeremy to the finish line first! I was so happy the hiippies won!! Oh…and I just checked an amazing race blog site and I found out exciting news! After the excitment of the race, Ray ended up proposing to Yolanda!! Wow!!
I can’t wait until season 10 starts in the fall! I encourage you to watch it! It’s a great show!! It’s highly recommended it and it also has very high ratings too! You can check out Amazing Race on the CBS’s website:
