My interesting subway ride home

Last night I had quite an interesting subway ride home after work. My commute to and from work is around 50 minutes with good transfers but when I commute after 11:45pm it usually takes me a bit longer because the trains don’t run as often as it does during the day.
I left work late because I had work to do after my last evening class. One of my co-workers Corinne also left work at that time, so we left together, was which was nice because we commute part of the way together. I work in the Gangnam area and Corinne and I take the subway to Jamsil where we transfer and then we split up at Gangdang-gu office on the pink line. I kept going and then got off at the next station where I transfered at Cheonho on the purple line to go home.
At Cheonho I had to wait maybe around 15 minutes for my connection to Sangil-dong. I had a long day at work and I was very tired (it was midnight at the time), so I decided to sit down on the bench while I waited for my train. This man who was already sitting on this bench told me in English to sit down, so I did but now I wish I didn’t! The man who sat beside me was obviously drunk but at first I didn’t think nothing about it. At first I just sat down and waited for my train but then this man started talking to me and bothering me. I knew he was drunk because I smelled the alcoholic all over him. He spoke a bit of English and I tried to ignore him by listening to my music on my iPod but that didn’t work, he then wanted to listen to my music too. Then he did something that I totally didn’t expect he took one of my hands and kissed me – ohhhhh gross!!
So that was enough of that, I wanted to get up but then he pushed me down to sit back down. After a few minutes I tried to get up again and I walked away from him. He told me his home is Sangil-dong and that’s where I live too, so I was a bit worried that he would follow me home.
I said a quick prayer and walked to 2-2 area where I would get the second car of the train instead of the first car of the train like I usually do. Thankfully when the train arrived the man didn’t follow me. Finally I could sit down in peace in the train! After that  incident of waiting for my train, God blessed me with a fun interaction with a little boy (18 months old). This little boy was very cute, I laughed a lot and we copied each other doing different things! I was so surprised to see a young boy on the subway after midnight but at the time I was very relieved!
When I got to my station the mother also got off too (it was the last stop) and she spoke a bit of English. We talked until we parted outside the subway station. So, I thank God for His protection and that His presence is always with me.
Yesterday at work I had a really good day! Before I left for work I called my parents and had a nice talk with them. I also spoke to my Nana on Wednesday night on the phone as well. My Nana goes to California every year to visit relatives and she asked me again if I wanted to go this year and my Dad also encouraged me to go as well. I thought it would be a good idea to go because since I have been in Korea I have realized more how important it is to spend time with family and friends. So, I will be going to California in November for a week with her to visit my uncle Rick, aunt Catherine and my cousins Nicole and Cailtan!
On Wednesday I had a really rough day and I was pretty close to crying in front of my students and also my boss. It was mostly because of the two new classes I am teaching for the intensive speaking classes. It’s a whole new curriculum that I’m not use to teaching, so I’m struggling with teaching these two classes on Monday, Wednesday & Friday. Yesterday I didn’t teach my IES classes and my classes went really well (like night and day difference). I really enjoyed being with my students, teaching them and felt encouraged yesterday! Even my 8:30pm classes I am having better attendance then I did in the last 3 months!
update on IES classes: today (Friday) both of them went super well!!! Praise God!!
Yesterday I got another good news! My school finally booked my flight for going home!! I will fly home on Saturday September 2 and I have a direct flight from Seoul to Toronto! Even though the flight is super long (14 hours) I am very excited to fly out in the evening and also to have a direct flight! God is soooo good!!
Please pray for my remaining time in Korea. Specifically with my teaching and protection on my commute to and from work. Thanks for all of your prayers, I really appreciate them!
See you less then 2 months!
