Acquarium at Coex mall

This week I have a four day work week because on Monday it was a holiday here in Korea! It was really nice to be lazy in the morning and then the rest of the day I spent time with my three of my co-workers (Corinne, Billy & Jessica) and four of my low intermediate IES students (Sook Young, Maeng, Hyoun Jung & Jung Hoon).

We all met at Coex mall in the Samseong area in Seoul. Most of the Coex mall is underground and I think it is one of the largest underground shopping malls in the world. It has a aquarium, a large movie theater, a kimchi field museum, many restaurants (even TGI Friday), stores and a convention centre as well.

We went to the aquarium at the mall. It was really nice. There was a wide variety of tropical fish and all different sea creatures that swim in the water including sharks, otters, a turtle, jelly fish, etc. All of the fish were so beautiful, especially the ones with the coral reef. It reminded me of when I when snorkeling with my family on our cruise!

After we went to the acquarium we all went out to dinner at an Italian restaurant and then we went out for ice cream at Red Mago! It was a really good day to hang out with my co-workers and some of my students!

Yesterday my flight home had to be changed because the first time we booked my flight my boss didn’t realize that it was confirmed. So, now I am flying home on Tuesday September 5. I will leave Seoul in the afternoon at 4:30pm, I will have a connection through Vancouver and arrive in Toronto at 9:00pm. At first I was a bit disappointed that I will leave a few days later because the flights were all booked up but now I think it is better to give me more time to pack and organize my things and say my good-byes.

Oh, today I met with a Romanian friend of mine who I met here in Korea back in May. She has been in Korea for almost 4 years. She studied at the seminary at my church, she got married here and now they want to return to Romania as full-time missionaries. She is teaching me Romanian now! She has a great heart and I’m so thankful and feel so blessed how God put her in my life during my time in Korea.

About Andrea

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go. I also love cats too and I have a cat of my own named Minnie!
