Romanian connections in Korea!

On Sunday morning I went to my Romanian friend Emily (Emilia) church in Bundang, her pastor is from Canada and he lived in Mississauga. I really enjoyed the service and felt the sweet presence of God. The pastor spoke on missions, it was a very good messenge.

I went out for lunch with Emily and her husband and three of her friends. It was very neat to find out the Romanian connections from them! One of the girls (Ruth) is from Virginia State and she knows two of the missionaries in Romania serving with Heart to Heart International Ministries (Sarah Horton and Sarah McCabe). I have been on three short-term misison trips with Heart to Heart and I’m applying to go with them long-term. I met Sarah and Sarah on a couple of my trips there with them and I know Heart to Heart isn’t a large organization, so I was shocked when I found out she knows them! Another girl who was there her father’s side of the family is Romanian and the other girl who was with us her parents adopted a girl from Romania (from an orphanage).  That’s pretty incredible of all of those connections and meeting them here in Korea! I had a great time with them.

After lunch I went to a missions prayer meeting with Emily and her husband and then Emily gave me a Romanian lesson. She helped with some sounds, my pronunciation and other things. She’s a great teacher and I even have homework for our next lesson on Wednesday!

About Andrea

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go. I also love cats too and I have a cat of my own named Minnie!
