Shared about Korea to the Youth

Tonight (Nov 10) the Youth Pastor at my church asked me to share to the youth group about my year in Korea. Today I prepared for what I was going to say and I organized the pictures of the ones I wanted to show. As I was preparing I was getting excited but I also felt nervous at the same time. When I got to the church I set up a table of some of my souniver stuff I brought from Korea, pictures and I also put out some Korean snack food as well.
The youth hung out for a bit before it started, Pastor Dean gave the annoucements and then we had a time of worship. The worship time was just awesome! Almost 30 youth came out, I was so glad to be able to have a chance to share my experiences with them. They seemed pretty attentive while I spoke (except I lost their attention when I was trying to get my pictures up on the screen!) and they enjoyed the food I brought too (all of it was gone!). I shared my testimony of the lessons God taught me while I was in Korea, I shared some stories and pictures as well. I felt a bit nervous but I think over all it went well and my confidence is growing more with public speaking. When I got home I spoke to one of the girls on msn who was there and she told me that I encouraged her when I shared about perseverance and trusting in God by sharing of what I went through. I was so encouraged to hear that and I hope I was an encouragement to the others as well!

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go. I also love cats too and I have a cat of my own named Minnie!
