team barbecue

On Sunday (May 13) evening the director of the team I’m on invited everyone to his house for a barbecue. I had such a great time spending time with the team! We barbecued chicken and mici (Romanian meat – I think it’s beef. It’s very good!). We also had drinks (soda pop), chips and left over dessert from our Saturday social event. The weather was great too for a barbecue outside. Kevin also has a trampoline in his backyard. It was fun to jump on it, especially with Niss because it was her first time on a trampoline!

At the end of the evening Lyndsay and Kevin talked about the ministry they do at the baby hospital and I got interested in it. It sounds like there’s a lot of red tape though to volunteer there with proving to them you have the right education, you need to do all these medical tests and other things. On the way home I spoke to Alina about my passion I have for orphan children on the maxi taxi. As I spoke to her about the children and I also shared my doubts with her about why I don’t understand God brought me here to Romania and I’m not doing right now  what I’m passionate about and what God has called me to do. As I shared my thoughts with her tears came to my eyes and I started to cry. Alina gave me some encouragement and told me that God has still brought me here for a reason and He’s using this time as aa preparation time. I still find it very difficult to wait because I’m finally here in Romania and I have waited to be here for a very long time and my heart is longing to minister and reach out to the kids.

Around 11pm in the evening my parents phone me from my uncle Eugene’s and my aunt Phyllis’ house in Waterloo. My parents and my brother were at their house with all of my relatives for a barbecue to celebrate Mother’s Day with the family. It was fun to say hi to everyone who was there (I think the phone was passed around at least 9 times)! Here in Romania they don’t have Mother’s Day but they do have Women’s Day in March (there isn’t a Father’s Day either). Happy Mother’s Day to my Mom and all the Mom’s!!! Blessings to you!!
