social event in Reghin

Yesterday (Saturday June 9) the school that I work at here in Romania had our last social event for this term and we had it in Reghin! Unfortunately none of the students from Targu Mures expressed interest in going to the event but we had a pretty good group with the teachers and the students from Reghin.
We left from Targu Mures at 1:00pm and got back around 7:40pm (we took the maxi taxi there and back), so we spent most of the day there. We had a great time in Reghin and we ended up having 16 people in our group (including all the teachers, students and kids). We met at a Lutheran German church. The priest did a presentation/ tour of the church. He even did it in English but sometimes he couldn’t find the words so one of my students (Csaby) translated (from German). It was quite interesting.
After we finished at the church we went to this cultural traditional musuem. A lady who works there gave us a tour for our group (we were the only people there, so we had a private tour!). The lady explained different things in Romanian and then Csaby translated into English for us. Csaby amazes me. His first language isn’t German or Romanian, it’s Hungarian and he translated for us from two different languages! He also organized everything for us today too. Some of the things at the things at the musuem were really interesting because it was all traditional cultural things in Romania but unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures because I thought it was quite expensive for the price to pay if you wanted to take pictures.
Then we had a nice walk through the forest and when we came out of the forest we had a rest on this hill that had a beautiful view of the city of Reghin. One of the couples ordered pizza for the group and the pizza company delivered it right to where we were at the hill! That was the first for me to get pizza delivered outside near the forest and eat outdoors!
I was so glad their children came along for the day because I love kids! I spoke to one of the couple’s daughter. We had a couple of great conversations and it was quite funny because we both inchanged English and Romanian when we talked to each other! One of the couples who went I am becoming good friends with them because I see them at the church service before my Reghin class. I found out they don’t have anyone to look after the children that will be going to the church camp, which is the last week of June. (I will be going to the camp). When I found out about the children at camp, I immediatetely offered to help out in anyway I can with the children during the week at camp!  I even offered to do English classes throughout the week for the children. Now, I’m not only looking forward to getting out of the city for a week and seeking God but also doing things with the children!! God is so good!!! What a great day!
