Happy Thanks-giving!!

Today in Canada it is the Thanks-giving holiday. We will celebrate the American Thanks-giving with the school as one of our monthly social events but this morning I thought it still would be nice to celebrate the Canadian Thanks-giving too since there are two Canadian teachers on our team (Hilya and I). Then around 11:30am Bryan told me that Alina and him wanted to treat Hilya and I out for lunch for our Thanks-giving. That was so thoughtful of them to do that!

So, at 12:30pm Alina, Bryan, Hilya and also the rest of the staff joined us for lunch to celebrate our Canadian Thanks-giving. We went to the Hungarian restaurant we usually go to when we go out for lunch with the staff. This Hungarian restaurant has a set menu, so you pretty much eat whatever is set in front of you. The meal was pretty good. We had soup, a meat dish with mamaliga, served with bread and cake for dessert. Oh, course I missed our traditional Thanks-giving meal (turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy on top, stuffing, etc) but it’s the thought that counts and it was just really nice to celebrate it with the team!

I hope you had a great Thanks-giving holiday with your family! I did miss my family today but it was nice to chat with them on the phone. I am so thankful for my family, my friends, for all of the people who are praying for me, for God bringing me to Romania and for allowing me to be a part of what He is doing here! Again, Happy Thanks-giving and may our hearts be always full of thanks-giving and praise for all of God’s blessings!!

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go. I also love cats too and I have a cat of my own named Minnie!
