teaching at Rozmarin

Tuesday October 9, I started volunteering at Rozmarin school! I went on Tuesday and Thursday of this past week from 12:45 – 1:45pm. Next week I will start going every Wednesday and Thursday at the same time. I am teaching English to the second class at the school (they are seven and eight years old). I have twelve students in my class. The children are very sweet and they also enjoy learning! The majority of the students who go to this school are Hungarian so learning their names is a bit challenging to me. Clara who is a former student from our school has volunteered her time to translate for me. She used to translate for another teacher who taught at Rozmarin before and I’m so thankful she is interested in doing it again. Clara is a blessing because she is great with the kids and she can speak both Romanian and Hungarian!
The Rozmarin school is a special school for children before they go to public school for children who are disadvantaged and need extra help in school. I’m thankful for the teachers who work with them at this school because I see they care for them and they want to help them. At Rozmarin each class has two teachers but in the public school they only have one teacher in each class. Most of the children who go to Rozmarin are gypsies and are all behind in school and developmently. I’m so grateful for this opportunity God has opened up for me to work with the children at this school. I hope they will see God’s love when I am with them because God loves them so much! I would appreciate your prayers as I teach English and minister to these kids, thanks!!

About Andrea

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go. I also love cats too and I have a cat of my own named Minnie!
