my first dentist appointment in Romania

After I got my braces off when I was in high school my orthodontist put a permanent wire on the bottom of my teeth to keep my teeth straight. When I was in Reghin for the conference I ate an apple and when I took my first bite I felt part of the wire come off and sure enough it did. One of the students who is studying at our school is a dentist/ orthodontist. She is actually my director’s dentist here. I made an appointment with her and I saw her on Thursday October 25. She took off the old cement that held the wire and replaced it with a brand new wire.

She did a pretty good job but when I went home and tried to flossed my teeth it was a bit hard to do it at one place. I returned to her for second appointment this past week (Tuesday October 30th) to see if I could get it fixed and she did it without any problems. I am pleased with her service and I’ll probably go back to her for a cleaning within the next couple of months! Oh, she had her own private dentist office and runs it on her own with an assistant. She has all of the same facilities that we do in Canada but you know somehing that was a bit strange to me? I think for the first time ever in my life I didn’t have the chair down but I actually sat up in the dentist chair!

About Andrea

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go. I also love cats too and I have a cat of my own named Minnie!
