wow what a week it has been!

I had quite a week! A lot has happened to me this past week and God has been speaking to me a lot. I thought you’d like to hear how my week went!

On Tuesday I got an opportunity to visit a gypsy community with Hilya, Alina and Mihai (2 other teachers and one of our newest staff members on our team). My heart felt very overwhelmed and broken when I went there. There are 23 families who live there and well over 40 children. They have shelter and electricity but they don’t have much food or clothing. They live in these storage units and just by looking at where they live you can tell they are trying to survive life. I was able to speak to a couple of the mothers in Romanian and ask them some questions of what they need and how they are doing. All of them told me they need food and clothes. I would really like to reach out to them, especially the children. On Wednesday Kevin our director told the staff that he is interested in starting a ministry with this community, which is awesome! I need pray and ask God more of what He wants me to do.

In my older children’s class as part of their homework I get them to write a journal entry about their weekend. When I read one of the girls journals I was amazed how much she opened to me. She shared in her journal how it is like at home and how she thinks of herself. In class on Wednesday I told her if she ever needs to talk I’m here for her and then she poured out her heart out to me, to the point of tears. I really want to reach out to her and mentor her. I feel humbled when I see what God is doing and I really want to be a part of it!

Thank-you for your prayers. I really appreciate it!

About Andrea

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go. I also love cats too and I have a cat of my own named Minnie!
