be careful what you pray for!

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday we have staff meetings at the school I work at in Romania. On Mondays we pray for each other as a team, on Wednesdays we pray for the different ministries we are involved with here and on Fridays we pray for the staff at the Global Outreach head office in West Virginia. It has been such a blessing from God to pray together as a team at our staff meetings!

On Monday one of my prayer requests I asked for prayer was for God to give me opportunities to speak in Romanian everyday because I really would like to improve in my Romanian.

Well God definitely hears our prayers!! Last week Alina (one of the teachers) wanted to speak in Romanian on the way home from school so I said we could but I didn’t realize how long the conversation would last. We ended up speaking in Romanian the whole way home which is a thirty minute walk! Then we tried it again yesterday and today. It’s great that Alina and I can practice our Romanian with each other!

Then today when I went to Rozmarin (I teach gypsy children English there twice a week) God gave me another surprise. I had a great time with the children. I was just enjoying being with them and I told Clara (she translates for me) that some of the children know I speak some Romanian now. Then I told the teachers who work with the children in the classroom I teach in that some of the children know that I speak some Romanian.

Do you know what one of the teachers then told me? Mioara said to me “okay for now on we will speak in Romanian”. At first I thought she was kidding but she was serious and started speaking to me in Romanian! Honestly what was I going to say to her “no”?! Of course not because I asked God for more opportunities to speak in Romanian! I just had to laugh though because I thought it was funny how all of a sudden Mioara wants to speak to me in Romanian!

So, be careful what you pray for because you just may get it!! J
