new school term!

On Monday January 12th another term started at the English school I teach at in Romania! For those who do not know what I do in Romania. I am a missionary teacher at an English school which is in Târgu Mures, Romania and it is under the mission agency Global Outreach. One of the main things I do here is teach at the English school but I also do a variety of other things as well.

All of our public and business classes started again on the week of January 12th and then our children’s classes started the week after on the week of January 19th.

I would appreciate your prayers as I teach and minister here in Romania!

This is how my ministry schedule looks like for the winter term:

At school:

  • Adventurers class – is for older children ages 11 – 14 years old. I am teaching a beginner level and an advance level class.
  • Dolphins class – is for younger children ages 7 – 10 years old. I am teaching a beginner class.
  • 2a class – is an intermediate level English class for teenagers and adults.

Ministries outside of school:

  • Rozmarin – This school is a special school for kindergarten and grade 1. The majority of the children are from the gypsy

community. This is one of my ministries I do outside of the English school. These children live with their families but I see it as a real

ministry need because many of the children come from very broken homes and are starving for love and affection. I go to this school twice a week to teach English lessons through fun interactive activities but my deep desire and hope is that they would see God’s love through me as I spend time with them.

  • Life and Light group home – this is a home for 23 orphan children. Most of the children are from the gypsy community. Some are there because they are actually orphans but some are not. All of the children are there for various reasons. This is another ministry I do outside of the school. I go there once a week to spend time with them and show them love through teaching English and various other activities. It is own and run by Christians so I can freely share the gospel with the children there!

About Andrea

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go. I also love cats too and I have a cat of my own named Minnie!
