Spring Ministry Term

On Monday April 6, 2009, our spring term began for the English school I teach at here in Târgu Mures, Romania. The school I teach at is with the foundation here in Romania Fundatia APT and the name of the school is “Engleza Pentru Toti” (English for All). Our umbrella mission organization we are under in the United States is Heaven Sent Ministries. One of the main things I do here in Romania is teach English at the school but I also do a variety of other things here as well.

This is what my ministry schedule looks like for the spring term.

More details….

At school:

  • Dolphins classes are for children ages 7 – 10 years old. This term I am teaching two classes. The class I have on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:45 – 4:45pm it will be my third term with the children. The class I have on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 – 7:30pm it is a brand new class. The children are absolute beginners.

  • Adventurers classes are for children ages 11- 14 years old.  This term I am continuing with my two classes that I had last term with the beginner level and the advance level on Monday and Wednesdays.

Specific Prayer Requests this term at the English School:

  • Please pray for the staff and team here at the foundation. We were suppose to get a new teacher this term but he decided at the last minute not to come which was a disappointment and it means a couple of the teachers have busier schedules then they expected to have. Please pray for strength for all of us as we teach and that we’ll be able to teach with joy and be God’s light in our classrooms.

  • The team
    • Kevin Sissons (director)          from England
    • Steve and Liz Brown               from The United States
    • Rob and Bek  Madden            from Australia
    • Jon and Margot Nairn            from Australia
    • James Nairn                           from Australia
    • Andrea Weber                       from Canada

This is my first term teaching all children’s classes! I am very exciting about this and I have been waiting for this since I have arrived here in Romania so this is an answer to prayer.

  • I would appreciate prayer for my teaching preparation that I will be able to continue to develop the children’s curriculum and resources here at the school.

  • I would appreciate prayer for my teaching that I would continue to develop my skills and abilities with the children as I teach them throughout the term.

  • I would also appreciate prayer for my classroom management skills in the class too. Last term I struggled with the children’s behavior (especially with my older children’s advance class). Please pray that I will be firm and strict but yet the classes will be fun and enjoyable for the children.

Thank-you for your prayers!

About Andrea

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go. I also love cats too and I have a cat of my own named Minnie!
