Today I didn’t go to Sabolciu which was disappointing so instead I stayed home. I think Minnie appreciates though when I stay home because she doesn’t like to be alone. This afternoon I spent some time with God reading my bible and praying. I also did my Monday’s small group bible study homework. In my bible study group we are studying the patriarchs. Today I read the story of Hagar and how God met her when she fled from Abram and Sarai. It was powerful for me when I read verse 13 in Genesis chapter 16 when Hagar gave God a name. This is what the verse says: “She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: ‘You are the God who sees me’, for she said, ‘I have now seen the One who sees me.” Isn’t that awesome that our God is a God who sees us?! I love that!!

In the afternoon I got some pictures developed for some people who live in Sabolciu. I especially wanted to give some pictures to Andreea’s parents who will be going to Holland for a year to work there while the children stay in Sabolciu. I also got my money exchanged today for my trip to Hungary too.

I went to Emmanuel church to meet Mihaela for my Romanian lesson from 5:30 – 6:30pm. It was a good lesson. After my lesson I went to my church for the Wednesday evening prayer meeting. We had an awesome time in God’s presence as we sought Him! God met with us in such a powerful way. After the prayer meeting I ended up hanging out with Dana for around an hour while Stefy was hanging out with his friends upstairs at the church. I felt encouraged that I am able to communicate a lot more now in Romanian. I feel my fluency has really improved which is so exciting to see the progress I have made in my language learning! It was so fun to hang out with Dana and speak in Romanian with her. We talked about different things and we even did some English together as I was able to teach her some vocabulary words from my Romanian book.

About Andrea

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go. I also love cats too and I have a cat of my own named Minnie!
