Well Norbi, Mircea and I tried to go to the Sabolciu gypsy village today but it was a failed attempt because on the way there the breaks in the car went bad and we had to turn around and go back to Oradea. That was so disappointing that we couldn’t see the children today. I hope we will be able to go tomorrow.

At 4:00pm today I had a dentist appointment. I had three cavities taken care of. I sat in the dentist chair for an hour. I never realized how spoiled we are when we go to the dentist in Canada because a lot of dental offices have a television in the ceiling for you to watch or even pictures or something to look at while the dentist works on your teeth but we don’t have that luxury here in Romania. I was so bored sitting in that chair! Anyways, the dentist was so kind. I felt nervous throughout my time there and she kept telling me it will be okay. It is a blessing to have a nice Christian dentist in my neighbourhood where I live in Romania. Oh, she doesn’t speak English but thankfully we were able to communicate in Romanian just fine!

I am so thankful that I saved a lot of money today because I only paid 160 Lei for all three cavities which is only $53 CAD because in Canada it would have been a lot more than that. However I did not escape the pain because the rest of the evening and also at night my mouth was really sore! I didn’t expect to be in so much pain. I even tried to study Romanian but I just couldn’t concentrate so instead I watched a couple of my favourite TV shows (Amazing Race and Extreme Makeover Home Edition). I hope tomorrow my mouth will feel better.

About Andrea

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go. I also love cats too and I have a cat of my own named Minnie!
