Sunday October 24, 2010

This morning I went to church. Pastor Teodor who is the Senior Pastor of my church preached. He was away for a month in the States with one of his sons Calin. During their time in the States they travelled and preached at different churches. Today was their first Sunday back. It was great to see them back and also hear Pastor Teodor preach even if I didn’t understand much of the sermon! I am thankful that my friend Crina gave me some key points of the sermon which was helpful to at least know the gist of it. After church I spoke to Rachel who is a missionary here (she works with the gypsy children in Tina) and I also met Peter who is a missionary with my church here. It was nice to talk to them because it’s always great to connect with other missionaries who you can relate to and share your experiences with them of being on the field.

When I arrived back in Rogerius (it is the neighbourhood where I live) I decided to go to Carrefour to do some grocery shopping before I went home. Unfortunately while I was at the store I did not feel well at all so I quickly tried to finish my shopping and when I got home I ended up spending the rest of the afternoon in bed. I decided not to go to my small group in the evening because I still wasn’t feeling the greatest so I stayed home.

In the evening around 10:00pm I talked to my parents for a couple of hours on Skype which was great to talk to them like always. Whoever invented Skype is such a genius because it is such a blessing to not have to worry about paying for phone cards anymore and talk to my parents for free!! It is also great to see each other on webcam too! I also think since we have been started chatting on Skype I am a lot less homesick which is always a good thing when you are living overseas and away from your family!

About Andrea

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go. I also love cats too and I have a cat of my own named Minnie!
