This morning I woke up with my cat getting into trouble again. This time she knocked my glasses off of my desk. Minnie did that before and thankfully my glasses were okay then so I hope they will be fine again this time. She can be such a trouble maker in the mornings!

Today I spent the day with two orphan girls from CP2. Eva and Andreea came over to my apartment and we had such a great time together. Eva loves my cat so she wanted to see Minnie and I always love spending time with Andreea. It was fun just to hang out, talk,

listen to music and eat together. I wanted to give them something to eat before they went back to the orphanage so I thought what would be something cheap to make, good and something they may not have eaten before. French toast came to my mind and it turned out they hadn’t had it before or tasted maple syrup before so it was the first time both of them to try it and they liked it! Andreea was a great help in the kitchen with me as she helped me fry up the French toast.

I was a bit surprised that Eva called me “Mommy” today. Andreea has been calling me that since camp but it was the first time Eva called me “Mommy”. Both of the girls are so sweet and it really breaks my heart that they have been abandoned. I found out a little more of Eva’s story today. She has been at the orphanage for 8 ½ years and not even once has her Mother visited her. She told me her sister has but not either of her parents has visited her once. That is so sad. I can’t image my parents abandoning me or even growing up without a parent. Thankfully Pathway to Joy has been working with the orphan kids at CP2 now for 7 years so almost the entire time Eva has been there. I really hope I am a positive role model in their lives and encourage them in their relationship with God. Oh, I’m also really glad that Eva can take care of Minnie next weekend when I go to Târgu Mures!

About Andrea

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go. I also love cats too and I have a cat of my own named Minnie!
