I had a wonderful afternoon with Ina and Gina! We went to three different foster families
where I handed out the packages of the mittens, hats and scarves to the children. The kids liked their gifts! Our first visit today was one of the younger girls who have been with her foster family for four years. Her name is Larisa and she is now six years old. Gina and Ina told me her foster parents are looking to even adopt her now which is exciting! I can really tell that Larisa loves her foster Mom and her foster sisters Bianca and Rebecca by the way they interacted with each other while we were there.
Our second visit was one of the younger boys who have been with his foster family for two
years now. His name is Daniel and he is now four years old. He loved his gift but unfortunately his gloves were way too big for him. I have to admit it was so cute and funny at the same time! It really broke my heart when I heard that another family wants to adopt him. I really don’t understand why his current foster family cannot adopt him and why another family is now looking at adopting him.
Our third and last visit of the day was one of the young boys who have been with his foster family for three years. His name is Iosif and he is seven years old now. His foster parents were not home but his foster grandparents were there. I can tell that his foster grandparents really care for him the way
spoke about him while we were there. Iosif is a really smart kid! While we were there he showed us his school work and he also read some scripture verses out of the Bible for us. We were all very impressed with him!
This evening I decided I wanted to fast and pray but not just from food but also from the TV too. I decided to fast from the TV too because I think I got a bit addicted to it and I thought if I’m going to dedicate an evening to God I’m going to set aside the TV too. I am so glad I spent the evening with the Lord. It was great to take time to read my Bible, listen and sing worship songs and also pray too. I really like to spend more time with the Lord because so many times I get so distracted from my time with God. Maybe I need to have a time in my schedule for my quiet time with God and nothing else (e.g. no internet or any other distractions) so I don’t go to bed and wonder where my day went and why I didn’t have that precious time with God.
