Today I had quite a long day but it was also a great day where I got to meet four of our

Adi and I

wonderful foster children that we work with here! The first visit I did with Ina and Gina we went to one of the young boy’s house. Adi is his name, he is nine years old and he has been with his family since he was a year old. Adi liked his gift and enjoyed getting a new hat, scarf and gloves!

Before we went to our second house we picked up Ovidiu who works with Pathway to Joy on a part-time basis and he is our child psychologist on our staff. We drove to a village called Talpos which is where two of our foster children live. Next we met Mirela and Csabi who are siblings. Mirela is 10 years old and Csabi is 9 years old. They have been with their foster family since July of this year however this is their third foster family because the first two families their foster parents were sick with cancer and they could not continue to take care of them. Both of them were abandoned in the hospital.

Pathway to Joy came and got them out of the hospital when Mirela was 2 years old and

Csabi and Mirela

Csabi was a year old. Ina, Gina and Ovidiu all told me that it is not good for the children to change families but sometimes because of circumstances they need to change families. Thankfully Mirela and Csabi are now in a wonderful Christian family; they are both thriving and are really doing very well! They both loved their gifts!

Our third and last visit for the day we went to Tinca (this is a village an hour from where I live) where I met one of the older foster boys. His name is Florin and he is 13 years old. He was also abandoned when he was a baby and he is one of the boys who has have been in the care of Pathway to Joy’s foster families most of his life.

Florin and I

Unfortunately this is also Florin’s third foster family because his first two families he was with he had some problems and his former foster parents couldn’t continue to take care of him. Praise God that Florin is doing much better with the foster parents that he is currently with! Florin also liked his gift from Canada.

I got home around 5:30pm so much later then what I was expecting. It was a long day but a good day. In the evening I felt a bit tired from the busyness of my day so I took time to relax. I watched Amazing Race which is one of my favourite TV shows, worked on my blog and e-mailed people at home.

About Andrea

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go. I also love cats too and I have a cat of my own named Minnie!
