Today I went to the orphanage around 2:00pm because I had plans to take Andreea out for the day but when I got there her supervisor told me I couldn’t which was disappointing. I could not take Andreea out because the orphanage had a couple of programs planned for the day and I didn’t know that. I wish Eva would have told me that when I spoke to her yesterday. Eva and Andreea wanted me to stay anyway so I ended up staying until I think around 7:00 or 8:00pm.

I had a great time spending time with Eva and Andreea today. I also hung out with some of the other kids too at the orphanage. I found it so strange that Eva really persisted to give me some of her food and candy that she got when she went carolling and when I told her it was for her, she told me that she would be upset if I didn’t take anything. Doesn’t it sound backwards to have orphans who have hardly anything give you things?

The first program the orphanage had was a Christmas program the children did for the directors and social workers that work for the Children’s Protective services. The kids did a play and sang some songs. They did a great job! The second program was actually by the foundation that I work for and I didn’t know they were coming. Dan, Tabita, Dani and I think Dani’s friend came. They received Christmas presents for all the children from different stores that donated items for families and children in need which is really great!

After the children got their gifts we watched The Nativity Story movie. I have already seen it a couple of times but I decided to stay and watch it so I could get a ride home instead of taking the tram home. I’m so glad I saw the movie again because it is a really great movie – in fact for me personally I think it is the best Christmas movie! Even though I had already seen it before tears came to my eyes when I saw some parts of the movie because I was so moved when I watched it again and I felt God gently speak to my heart that He has chosen me too just like He chose Mary!

The rest of the evening I stayed home and relaxed. It was so nice to see Minnie when I got home and spend time with her. It was a long day but a good day.

About Andrea

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go. I also love cats too and I have a cat of my own named Minnie!
