Sunday December 26, 2010

This morning I really enjoyed the church service. We had the worship and sermon like we usually do but afterwards the band and some singers sang Christmas songs. I really enjoyed hearing the Christmas carols/ songs in Romanian. It was also beautiful to hear all the singers on the stage with all their different voices. Yesterday my church had a special Christmas service but I didn’t go because I was too tired and I also didn’t feel like going back out in the rain (yes it rained all day on Christmas Day which wasn’t very pleasant!) so it was nice that they did some Christmas carols today.

After the service my friend Crina invited me to her home for lunch. Our small group leader Carman also came with us too. It was such a blessing to spend a couple of hours with them after church because that rarely happens since I have moved to Oradea. Crina had some delicious leftover food from her family’s Christmas dinner so we got to enjoy some really great food. We had some great conversations and I even found out that Carman has a cat! I just praise God for the invitation that I have received today because that was such a treat for me.

The rest of the day I relaxed at home. Today I also called Steve who is the father and husband of our new missionary family that joined our staff in November. I want to say BIG congratulations to them! Tiffiny had her baby yesterday on Christmas Day – a beautiful girl! Abigail is her name. Tiffiny is still in Hungary with the baby. They cannot come back into Romania until they do the baby’s passport but first they need their marriage certificate which in the container. The container is in Romania now but it has to go through customs now. Please pray that they will have access to the container as soon as possible so they can do their baby’s passport and the family can be reunited in Romania. Thank-you for your prayers!!

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go.
