Today felt like a very long day at home. I didn’t go anywhere because I had to make phone calls to some of Pathway to Joy Ministries’ sponsors. My director has asked me to contact some of the ministry’s sponsors whose credit cards got declined and they needed help in contacting them to touch base to see what happened. Meg was out for the day so I had the apartment to myself which was really nice to have my place to myself.

I think it was around four hours that I spent on the phone (not constantly but that was the time span) and I only actually spoke to five people the whole time! I couldn’t believe how many people were not home and how difficult it was to get a hold of people even in the morning and early afternoon on a Saturday in the States.

Out of the five people that I spoke to only two are able to pick up their child sponsorships again. One of the girls I spoke to was actually on one of the teams that came here last summer. I try to send the sponsors an e-mail before I call them about their sponsorship situation. When I e-mailed her, I was surprised that she was already on my contact list and then I realized she was on the Florida team that was here for the orphan camp that was last summer.

She told me that something happened to her credit card and she didn’t know how to contact Pathway to Joy Ministries. She told me that she was very grateful that I had contacted her. She also told me she was actually praying about her child sponsorship and she told me when I called her it was an answer to her prayer! It was great to reconnect with her.

My heart broke for the three people that I spoke to that couldn’t pick up their sponsorships again because they wanted to but they just couldn’t at this time because of financial reasons. One person told me she had lost her job and is currently looking for another one. Another person told me that her husband is really ill and they have a lot of medical bills right now. I pray that God will provide for these people who are in need of financial provision. Jehovah Jireh – the Lord is our provider!

In the evening I felt a bit mentally tired from being on the phone most of the day so I took time to just unwind. I watched a bit of TV and just relaxed. I am thankful that I got some things accomplished today. I hope I am able to finish this sponsor list soon because it is definitely not an easy task to do. Well that’s it for today!
