Today was such a great day! In the afternoon I went to Sabolciu with Mircea, Norbi and Meg. We invited the children into the church and had a program there. We sang songs, Mircea told the Bible story of David and Goliath, we did the memory verse (Philippians 4:13) and at the end we coloured. In the evening I went to the orphan chapel that Pathway to Joy has every Friday evenings. I usually don’t go to the orphan chapel because I usually go to the youth/ young adult service at my church but I wanted to go today since Meg is here.

When I went to the orphanage Eva (she is one of the teen orphans and my cat sitter :)) told me that she received Christ in her heart last week when she went to one of the evangelical services at Emmanuel church. She was very secretive about it when she told me because she didn’t want the other kids to know. I’m not sure why but she was very excited to tell me! I’m so happy for her!!!

This evening at the chapel Dan spoke a salvation message to the kids and some children surrendered their lives to Christ which was awesome! It was sad though when I heard from Dan that one of the teen orphan guys isn’t serving Christ anymore because his life was really changed at camp last summer and he even gave me a Hillsong worship CD too. Dan told me that a lot of the kids get into this rollercoaster cycle of getting fired up for Christ at camp, then some months later they come crashing down, then they go to camp again and then their lives change again, etc. That must be tough especially for the mentors who work with them on an ongoing basis. We really need to keep them in our prayers.

Oh, it was so funny the game that Meg did with the kids “Baby if you love me would you please, please smile”! You go to someone and say that, the other person replies back “You know I love you but I just can’t smile” and the person tires to do this while not smiling or laughing. The kids loved it! It was a great game and we had a lot of fun playing it!
