Friday February 11, 2011

I went to Sabolciu from 11:30am – 3:30pm. Today we had the blessing of bringing in a Christian dentist to the Sabolciu gypsy village to look at the children’s teeth. I cannot believe how bad some of the children’s teeth are! I also couldn’t believe how afraid some of the children were to see him as soon as they found out that he is a dentist and got out his rudder gloves. I praise God that we will be able to take some of the children to the dentist in Oradea for free! It is extremely important that these kids start regularly brushing their teeth. This is obviously a habit they need to learn because I doubt it their parents have taught them this but they have to understand how important it is if they want to have beautiful healthy teeth.

In the evening I went to the orphan chapel that the foundation has every Friday from 7:00 – 9:00pm. It was great to see the children and oh it was such a joy to sit in between two of my favourite girls (Eva and Andreea)! After the chapel I watched a movie called “Letters to God”. It was a sad movie but yet a good movie. It was amazing to see the boy’s faith in God throughout the movie as he wrote his prayers in letters. I highly recommend it. It was a good day!

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go.
