Today I had a quite a busy day! This afternoon I spent a few hours with Andreea and Eva from the orphanage where the foundation I work with works at. We went to McDonalds for lunch and a strawberry ice cream sundae. We did a lot of walking because we ended up walking to McDonalds from the orphanage but it was definitely good exercise! Even though I have a lot to do this weekend I am really glad I was able to take time to spend time with them one last time before I leave for Canada.

Eva was so funny how she said to me “everyone says they are going to come back but then they don’t”. I told Eva that I am definitely coming back to Romania because I have a return plane ticket, I have an apartment in Romania and I have a cat that I’m leaving in Romania while I’m in Canada so I told her not to worry. Eva is right about what she said that a lot of people tell her that they will come back but then they don’t however I think for my situation it is a bit different. I understand though for orphans that it must be difficult for people to come and go in their lives. I really want to be a stable and consistent person in their lives stable so it is my heart’s desire to be a part of their lives for a long time.

The rest of the day I stayed home and cleaned my apartment. I was going to start packing but cleaning took much longer then what I had planned on. I also was able to talk to a couple of my friends and my director on the phone which was great to connect to them on the phone before I leave. My heart is filled with gratitude of how God has brought my director Karen and I’s relationship back together. It was such a blessing to talk to her on the phone. She really encouraged me a lot and she also prayed for me too which meant a lot to me. What a great God we serve!

About Andrea

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go. I also love cats too and I have a cat of my own named Minnie!
