Sunday April 17, 2011

Today I had a good day. Church was great in the morning. In the afternoon I did some stuff at home and then in the evening I went out with my brother Jonathan to Carruther’s Creek church in Ajax for a concert. This church has a service every Sunday evening for the young adults but once a year they have a special big event. I used to go sometimes to the young adults service before I moved to Romania. I am so glad that my brother goes sometimes because he lost interest in goes to my family’s home church on Sunday mornings. It really doesn’t matter where he goes to church as long as he enjoys going to church and feels that he belongs somewhere.

The church was packed full for the special event. I would say every seat was taken and around 150 people stood at the front so I think there must have been at least 1,200 people inside of the church! NineOFive opened up the evening with a time of worship NineOFive is the Carruther’s Creek youth adult’s worship band. Next Aaron Gillespie and his band from Florida played and the Parachute band from New Zealand ended the evening. We also had a guest speaker who is a Youth Pastor from a church from New York City. His message was both encouraging and challenging.

It was such a blessing and a treat to be able to go to this event tonight at the church. I really enjoyed it a lot and I felt a beautiful sense of God’s presence there. During one of the worship songs at the end of the evening I felt God gently speak to me and remind me that He is my Jehovah Jireh and provider.

Lately I have been feeling so discouraged and worrying how everything will turn out for my financial support in going back to Romania. I really have to just learn to surrender everything to God and just trust in Him totally because the situation I am in is really beyond my control so I need to remember that God is in control and everything will be alright in the end.
