This morning I couldn’t believe that I got up at 6:00am to watch the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton! The pre-wedding actually started at 3:00am Toronto local time but I didn’t get up that early. When I started to watch it the ceremony was just beginning at the Westminster Abbey church. I couldn’t believe how big the church was! It was so sweet how Prince William and Kate kissed on the balcony at Buckingham Palace. I couldn’t believe how many people were there and how beautiful Kate’s dress was!! It was like a modern day fairy tale.

I did a little research on the internet because I was curious about the royal wedding. There was an estimated of two billion people who watched the wedding across the world and a 24.5 million that watched the event live in the UK. That is a lot of people that watched the wedding!

I read there was a lot of attention that was focused on Kate Middleton because she was not a “commoner” which means she was not of recent royal blood or a part of the aristocracy marrying into royalty. Hours before the service, the Queen conferred the titles of Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus for William. For Kate Middleton she became Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge, but is not styled as ‘Princess Catherine’. I would like to say congratulations to Prince William and Kate Middleton!!

This morning I went to different stores and restaurants with Camille who is woman from my church. We went around to different place to ask for donations for the silent auction that we will be doing at the spaghetti lunch fundraiser in June. I think we went to ten different places and we got some very positive feedback from most of them! We already got a few donations! I really hope a lot of people will be able to come out to this event to help support what I am doing with the children in Romania!
