Today I stayed at Kim’s house. I spent almost the entire day doing my laundry,

Kim, Michael and their grandchildren

packing and cleaning up my stuff because my parents arrive tomorrow and then we will go to Sarasota. I also watched the result show for American Idol so Scotty and Lauren are the finalists! I wonder who will win this season? I guess we will find out next week!

In the evening I went to Jim’s Bible study group. When Jim arrived to pick me up at Kim’s house he brought all of the picture mugs that he did for me and he also bought the new prayer cards that he did too. He did a really great job on the mugs and my new prayer cards! They looked really great and what a blessing to be given these items as gifts. What a blessing from God in how He has blessed me in this way.

When Jim and Irene mentioned to their leaders that I am one of Pathway to Joy Ministries’ missionaries and I will be visiting Florida and asked if it would be possible for me to come and share they accepted for me to come right away. When I walked into the house where the Bible study was held I was so surprised to see how many people there were! I think there must have been at least 30 people there. I have never been to a group at a house that size before.

Before I shared we ate some food that people brought. I was able to meet some people before it “officially” started. I met this woman who is Hungarian and she is from Târgu Mures, Romania! She has actually been teaching Irene Romanian for a year now. She must be a really great teacher because Irene’s Romanian is quite good and in fact her pronunciation is much better than mine. I really need to improve my Romanian a lot in order for me to become fluent in the language. I feel disappointed in myself that my Romanian is not where it should be so I have to keep pushing myself to continue studying it.

When the Bible study “officially” started we began with a time of praise and worship which was really nice. I have to admit when I saw how many people were there I really struggled with my nerves and I wasn’t very wise with not properly preparing for my “sharing time” for this evening. I should have taken some time to properly prepare and not spent the entire day doing my laundry, packing and cleaning.

However by God’s grace and mercy I believe that He gave me the words that He wanted me to say even though I was kind of all over a bit with my testimony and with the ministry there in Romania. Everyone seemed very interested in what I shared and I felt very encouraged by all of them in how they have opened up their hearts towards me and also to the kids in Romania.

I was shocked or I should say just speechless when people just came up to me and handed me donations because I never asked for any money! I asked the leader of the group if this money should be used toward the ministry needs or for me personally. He told me without even giving it a second thought that I could use it for whatever my personal needs were whether for my vacation or for Romania. I felt kind of bad though that I originally planned on going to Florida to do fundraising for the ministry but both locations told me very specifically that those donations are to be used for me personally.

I told that to Kim later on and she told me not to feel bad because God knows what my needs are and He is providing for me so I should just accept it. I am grateful for God’s provision and He definitely surprised me this past week! Well, I still did promote Pathway to Joy Ministries either way.

I thought it was also really, really neat that the leaders of the group (Jeff and Shelly) hosted three of the orphan boys from the orphanage where we work in Romania when they came to Florida for the orphan choir tour two years ago. They told me so many fun stories of how the boys enjoyed their time with the family during their time with them. It was neat to hear that and to see of how the leaders of the group already had a connection with the children in Romania. What a blessing it was for me to be able to go to this group, to meet new people and share a bit of my passion that God has given me for Romania with them!
