I was very tired to get up this morning for church because we got back so late last night. However I felt it was very important to go to church especially since I hadn’t been to my home church in three weeks because I was in Florida and this was the last Sunday before my spaghetti lunch fundraiser event too. I went to church with my Mom and then my Dad met us later.
I really, really enjoyed the service at my church. The worship was awesome and we had guest speakers! Peter and Pat Dewit were our guest speakers who are one of the missionary families that my church supports. They were so inspiring to hear them share and later interact one-on-one with them. They are missionaries with the PAOC (Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada) and they are serving in Thailand. They have been there for twenty years already. After the service I told them that I felt like a baby missionary as I have only been on the field for four years and going onto my fifth year of service! They encourage me to keep on going in what God has called me to do.
Something that Peter said in his presentation during the service really inspired and encouraged me. He said that God has given every one of us a special assignment for our lives. Just like Paul told Timothy that God has given him a special assignment. It is the same with the Dewit family and every one of us. I really felt a clear confirmation from God when Peter spoke about that, that God has also given me a special assignment for my life to reach out to the orphan and gypsy children in Romania.
After the service my church had our annual community fun fest. It was really great to enjoy being outside with my church family. We ate a great BBQ lunch! It was great to interact and talk to everyone especially since I had been in Florida for almost three weeks. I was even able to sell some more tickets too for my spaghetti lunch fundraiser.
In the evening Nicolas and Camille Goorbarry and two of their kids came over to our house to do some preparation for the fundraiser event. It was exciting to start to see it all come together! Today we mainly worked on the silent auction items. I think Camille did an incredible job in gathering the items for the fundraiser event. I am so grateful for everything that Camille and also her husband Nicolas did for the fundraiser event which will be next Sunday!
