This morning I arrived in Dusseldorf, Germany around 6:15am which was at least 10 minutes later then when my flight was suppose to arrive. My boarding time at Dusseldorf for my second flight to Budapest was at 6:20am so I was in a bit of a panic if I was going to make my flight on time especially that I had to go through customs but thankfully I was able to make my flight! My second flight to Budapest was a very short one. It was less than 2 hours. I tried to sleep but I couldn’t so I just listened to music.

I was suppose to arrive in Budapest at 8:35am but my flight left at least 15 minutes late so I arrived around 8:50am instead. Then when I arrived I waited and waited for my luggage but it didn’t come and then I found out it didn’t arrive with me because it was still in Budapest. I think that was the first time ever in all of my flights to Romania that my luggage did not arrive with me because I usually have a much longer connection. After I found out my luggage didn’t arrive I arranged for the airport delivery company to deliver it to my apartment and then I went to look for my driver.

I was worried that my driver might have left without me because by the time I went through the doors it was almost 10:00am and it was my first time taking the airport shuttle service from Budapest. Thankfully he didn’t leave without me and he was there waiting for me with my name on a sign. When he saw that I was late and I didn’t have my luggage with me he asked me what happened. I apologized for being late and told him that my flight was late and my luggage didn’t arrive. Thankfully he didn’t look upset at me and said “okay, let’s go”. It definitely felt strange to leave the airport without my luggage!

The drive home to Oradea felt long and tiring. There was also a man and another woman in the van too. We stopped half way for 15 minutes and then we were at the boarder for another 10 or 15 minutes too. We left Budapest around 10:00am, it took around 3 hours and I think we arrived in Oradea at 2:00pm local time (Romania is an hour more than Hungary).

When I walked into my apartment it was so good to see Minnie my cat again!! She looked at me, meowed and started purring right away. It was so sweet and I was so happy to see her again because I missed her so much!  The rest of the day I did a few errands, cleaned a bit and made some phone calls to let my director and some of my friends know that I arrived safe and sound.

Unfortunately something happened to my internet settings on my computer and I couldn’t figure out how to fix it so I didn’t have internet when I go back home.  I knew my parents would be worried if they didn’t hear from me or even some people back home in Canada so I asked my Romanian friend Cristina to put a note on my parent’s facebook page and also my facebook page too.

I finally got to bed around 9:30pm. I felt exhausted by the time I went to bed especially since I didn’t really sleep at all on my flights and I lost a night’s sleep. However I was so happy to be back at my second home and so happy to be back with my Minnie!

Oh, I got great news from my friend Cristina today. She will get married in August and she would like me to be at her wedding! I’m so happy that Cristina and Adi finally made a decision to get married because they are a great couple together! Again I’m so happy to be back in Romania and I’m so grateful for God bringing me back safe and sound!!!
