I cannot believe today is the day that I fly back to Romania! I am so excited that it is finally here and tomorrow I finally get to see my Minnie (my cat) again! I originally thought the three months being out of the country would go by slow but actually it went by very fast (probably because I was very busy) and now I’m heading back to my second home!!

During the morning I did my last minute packing and spent time with Libby and Grace who are my parent’s cats. My Mom came home around 12:30pm and my brother Jonathan took us to the Toronto airport at 1:30pm. My Dad works in Toronto so he met us there. Originally I wanted to leave at 1:00pm so I was a bit concerned about the traffic however we went on the 407 hwy and we made good timing.

We arrived at the Toronto airport at 2:15pm. I got my luggage out of the car and I said good-bye to Jonathan. Then I went inside with my Mom to find the Lufthansa check in counter. My Dad met us at the airport and came to the line where we were at. God did an amazing thing when I checked in for my flight! When we got closer to going up to the counter I recognized a woman who used to go to our church. I looked at my parents and asked them “isn’t that Marcia Holland?” They both said yes. What a pleasant surprise to see her working on the day I fly out! I decided to ask to see if it would be possible for her to check me in and the lady taking care of the line told us that would not be a problem.

When we walked up to the counter where Marcia was, she was surprised to see us! I told Marcia that I am returning to Romania. She asked me if I was going on another short-term mission trip. She was very surprised when I told her that I actually live there now and I have been there for four years already. We lost touch over the years so that’s why she was surprised that I had moved to Romania. I asked her for her e-mail address so we could keep in touch with each other again. I also gave her my new prayer card too.

I told Marcia that I know I’m only allowed one check in piece of luggage with Lufthansa so I’ll be paying for my second check in. God then did something amazing! Marcia then went to talk to a couple of people who work with the Lufthansa airline (I’m assuming one of them was one of her supervisors because she came back with some good news). When Marcia came back to the counter she told us some really great news and I was just speechless which was I didn’t have to pay for my second piece of check in!! What amazing news that I was able to save $75!! God is so good!!

After I checked in for my flight, I thanked Marcia for all of her help and then my parents

and I spent almost an hour together before I had to go through security to board my plane. I decided to treat my parents to a late lunch/ early dinner since I saved money on my luggage. We ate pizza and enjoyed soda pop. After we ate I asked my parents to do a video greeting for me and then we took some pictures. Then it was time to say our good-byes which is something that is still not easy for me to do. After we said good-bye I went through security and found my gate to board my plane.

My flight from Toronto to Dusseldorf, Germany left a few minutes late. I flew out around 4:45pm and it was a 7 hour flight to Germany. It was a nice plane I flew on. It was great to have my own screen on the back of the seat in front of me.  I had a window seat but later I wished that I had an aisle seat because I felt so bad for the guy who sat next to me and I had to keep getting up to go to the washroom.

I ended up feeling so sick on this flight which has never happened to me before in all of the times I had flew anywhere. I could not believe how nauseous I felt. It was horrible! Thankfully the flight attendants were so kind to me. I told them that I wasn’t feeling well so they gave me some medicine and a couple of extra blankets. During the flight I just tried to enjoy myself as much as I could with watching a couple of movies and listening to my music on my i pod.
