Today was such an extremely busy day. I left my apartment in the morning at 9:45am and I didn’t get home until almost 8:30pm. When I got home in the evening I felt exhausted yet my heart was filled with so much joy that I had such an incredible day with the gypsy and orphan children!

This morning when I went to Sabolciu and walked through the village I felt overwhelmed by the sweet reunion that I received from all of the children and the parents! There were so many kids happy to see me that they were even fighting over me! I can’t even put into words how happy I was that I got to see the kids again!! I know this is definitely where God has called me to be!

I was surprised when I was at Sabolciu that a couple of the Moms even told me that I

They had a new addition to their family when I was in Canada!

looked thinner. I was also shocked when one of the Moms had a baby when I was in Canada because I didn’t even know she was pregnant. Now she has seven children (5 girls and 2 boys) and they live in a very small one room house. The interns did a VBS program at Sabolciu and they did an amazing job! Their theme this week is the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Please pray that God will speak to the kid’s hearts as we teach them this week, thanks!

After I went to the Sabolciu gypsy village I went to CP2 (the orphanage) with the interns. It was great to hang out with the orphans during the afternoon! After that I went to the House of Joy where the interns are staying for a short time. Daniel who is one of our interns is thinking about moving to Romania and working with the kids here which would be awesome!

I went to the camp meeting for the volunteers which was from 6:00 – 7:30pm. It was great to go to the meeting and find out more about camp. In the mornings there will be small discussion groups like we had last year. There will be six groups. I signed up for the group with Andreea who is the girl that I mentor. There will be 46 orphan kids at camp (I think I counted correctly) and 16 Romanian volunteers.

I was so happy beyond what I could put into words when I didn’t see Marius’ name on the list because he is the guy who “likes” Andreea (she is the girl that I mentor). However I was sad to find out that two of the kids that I really like won’t be going to camp. The orphan camp will be from Sunday July 10th – Saturday July 16th. We would appreciate your prayers for God to prepare the kids hearts and that He would do amazing things in their lives throughout the week. Thanks for your prayers!

The rest of the evening I stayed at home and relaxed. What a great day! I am so thankful to be able to be a part of the intern program while they are here in Romania this summer. It is such a blessing to spend more time both with the gypsy and orphan kids this summer!

About Andrea

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go. I also love cats too and I have a cat of my own named Minnie!
