I had another busy day today. This morning I went to Sabolciu with our summer interns where we did a VBS program with the children. I was so happy to see so many of the kids wear their brand new flip flops and swim suits that they got yesterday and they looked so great in them! I could not believe though how dirty some of the kids flip flops were already

Andreea and Mihaela look so beautiful in their new swimsuits!

and they just got them yesterday. I really would love to see the kids wear their swim suits swimming at the river near their village this summer. I’m sure for many of the kids this is the very first time they have ever owned a swimsuit before.

In the afternoon we went to CP2 (this is the orphanage we work at) to spend time with the children there. It was great to spend time with the kids there. We played UNO and just hung out together. I would like to ask for your prayers for the girl that I am mentoring. I need more of God’s wisdom and compassion to be that positive role model that God wants me in her life especially right now as she is going through some things. Thanks for your prayers!

Today I found out from one of the supervisors that there are 82 or 83 orphan children that live at CP2. When I heard that I thought to myself “wow, that’s a lot of kids!” These kids all have their own stories why they are there but I know they are all hurting and longing to be loved. Please lift up these precious kids in your prayers because they need our prayers. Thanks!

In the evening I stayed home and spent time with Minnie my cat. I also watched “So You Think You Can Dance Canada” and there was a guy who auditioned in Saint John’s which is in Newfoundland. I was surprised to see that he was from Whitby which is my hometown!

About Andrea

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go. I also love cats too and I have a cat of my own named Minnie!
