Today was the last full day with the children at camp. In the morning we did our usual

My small group at camp.

routine with our team devotions, waking the kids up, stretching and then breakfast. After we ate a delicious breakfast we met in our small groups one last time. The topic we had today was on sharing the gospel. Dena mentioned that it might be difficult for them to do that if any of them doesn’t personally know Christ so we gave them an opportunity to do that. I don’t know though if anyone did repeat the prayer after Nicoleta led it.

The rest of the morning we did crafts and sports. After lunch we received our camp T-shirts and then we did the big group photo with everyone. Then there was an expected water fight along some of older kids and translators. I am so glad that I didn’t get wet! The rest of the afternoon we did some activities and had some free time. Some of the older kids did the high obstacle course. I was amazed by some of their courage and determination to complete it!

What a great camp fire!

In the evening we had our last chapel and then we had the camp fire. Dani did an incredible job with organizing the camp fire. I was very impressed how professionally done it was. It was great to sing, roast marshmallows and just to hang out with the kids for their last night at camp.

At the end of the camp fire I noticed there was a group of kids praying along with Dena and a couple of the volunteers. When they finished I asked them what was going on. David Vede who is one of the volunteers told me that Demian (he is one of the older orphan boys) surrendered his life to Christ! Wow, that was just awesome news to hear at the end of the camp!

About Andrea

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go. I also love cats too and I have a cat of my own named Minnie!
