Orphan Summer Camp (July 10 – 17, 2011)
Our camp ministry team was comprised of a short-term team from Atlanta, our Romanian translators, summer interns and Pathway to Joy Ministries staff. We left from Oradea to go to camp on Sunday July 10th in the morning around 8:00am. We had quite a long ride this year compared to last year but it was worth the 7 hour bus ride because we got to return to Lunca Bradului which was the camp location where I used to go to camp with my former home church when I lived in Târgu Mures.
It was such a great feeling to return to this camp location because God has done so many amazing things in my life each church camp I have been here! The last time I was there was in July 2009, I was only able to be at camp for half the week because I had already bought my plane ticket for Canada. However those few days that I was there was when
God called me and brought confirmation in my heart that He has called me into full-time ministry to the orphan and gypsy children in Romania.
It is just awesome to think that two years later God has brought me back to the same location where He spoke that confirmation to my heart and now I’m back serving with the staff and the team to reach out to the orphan children. What a faithful God we serve!
We arrived at Lunca Bradului around 3:30pm. The first thing we did was eat lunch because we were all hungry. Another thing I’m glad we are back at this camp location is the food is so delicious! After we ate we found our rooms/cabins. I stayed in a cabin with the girls who are our summer interns and also some other Romanian girls too. The rest of the day we had orientation, dinner and a short worship service in the evening.
