This morning I took the maxi taxi (a mini bus) at 8:30am from Oradea to Târgu Mures. My trip to Târgu Mures felt long and tiring. I went to bed way too late last night so I only ended up getting around 4 hours worth of sleep. I tried to sleep on the maxi taxi but I just couldn’t. We had a quick 10 minute break in Cluj and then I finally arrive in Târgu Mures around 1:30pm.

This weekend I stayed at Steve and Liz’s place. It was a blessing for them to open up their home to me! I’m so grateful to have a place to stay and with friends too. I used to work with them at the English school when I lived in Târgu Mures. It is so great to spend some quality time with them and their 7 year old daughter Elisa. The last time I saw them was last year in November so I’m thankful to be able to spend the weekend with them.

When I arrived at the autogara (bus station), I was able to get a taxi right away and then head to Steve and Liz’s apartment. I felt so blessed that Liz had lunch all ready and waiting when I arrived! While we ate lunch it was great to catch up on things. I told them about some of the struggles that I had been having lately. I appreciated the encouragement that they gave me.

In the afternoon I went with Liz, their daughter Elisa, Carmen (I used to teach her), Michael and Adi (they work with YWAM) to visit a group home. The group home that I used to volunteer at when I lived in Târgu Mures closed down and all of the children scattered to different group homes. Today we went to visit two of the homes the kids are

Our visit with Jusca!

now living at but unfortunately three of the kids weren’t there because they were at camp so that was disappointing because I really wanted to see them.

The other home we visited was a home for women where Jusca now lives at. It was really great to see her again! She was very surprised when we came to visit her. It was great to surprise her! I am so glad to see that she seems happy where she is now living because that is very important. Though I don’t know if she was just happy because we were there or she is happy all the time being there. It was kind of hard to tell but either way it was great to see her smile and laugh. It was nice to spend a bit of time with her in the “visitor’s room”. I thought that was special to have that time alone with her. Hopefully the next time I visit Târgu Mures I will be able to visit the other kids I used to volunteer with.

In the evening I went to Steve and Liz’s Bible study group. It was a small group of people from their home church. We met at an apartment. Steve led the discussion on the scripture verse Hebrews 10:24 “let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds”. We had a good discussion on how we can encourage and challenge one another to go forward in our walk with Christ. This is my heart’s desire that I may be an encouragement to people in my life.
