“God is bigger than ANY problem. Don’t be discouraged he will show up right on time.” – A quote from my friend Maria that she posted on my facebook page today.
“God is striding ahead of you. He’s right there with you. He won’t let you down; he won’t leave you. Don’t be intimidated. Don’t worry.” – Deuteronomy 31:8 (Msg)
This morning I spent a lot of time with God. I really felt in my heart it was important to dedicate some time to Him in the morning especially because this afternoon I had plans to return to the immigration office. I really prayed for God’s sovereignty over my Romanian visa situation and that He would totally take control over our time that we would have at the immigration office.
I met Steve, Tiffiny and Lori at the immigration office around 2:00pm. I was very surprised when Lori told me that she couldn’t help me and I had to now do everything myself. I looked at her like “are you serious?” My friend Lori then went onto say that she needed to go pick up passports but will be back to check up on me. She told me to go in and see the same lady that we spoke to yesterday.
It turned out to be quite an emotional ordeal as we (Steve, Tiffiny and I) tried to manage the visa stuff on our own. The woman I spoke to yesterday told me that my volunteer contract and another paper wasn’t done correctly so panic set in and even with Steve and Tiffiny’s papers things weren’t right either. It was like fear set in and I started to cry because I’m so afraid of getting kicked out of the country and having to leave again.
Steve called our director Cornel and he wanted him to speak to the woman at the immigration office. At first the woman didn’t want to speak to our director but then she changed her mind I guess after she saw us pleading with her to do so. Thankfully in the end my friend Lori was able to help us and I was so glad beyond what I could put into words that, that was changed!
After Lori started helping us I felt a bit calmer and I saw how God was watching over us in how He worked that out for us. I did receive some good news with my Romanian visa situation today since my paper work was already in process before the law changed now I just need a new volunteer contract and another paper to complete everything for my new visa. The lady even told me that I am a special case and I don’t need all of the other papers that are required for the volunteer visa which is great news!
After we were at the immigration office for a while discussing what the requirements are for Steve and Tiffiny’s visas we decided to go sit down and have a drink outside. It was nice to sit down, talk and enjoy some soda or tea outside on the walking street. I am so thankful for the encouragement Tiffiny gave me and for the help that Lori gave us today.
I would really, really appreciate your prayers. These two papers must be in no later than Friday September 16th at the immigration office and this is also the last day I am allowed to be legally in the country too. This matter is very urgent that these two papers are done correctly and handed in on time. Please, please pray for me. Thanks so much!
After we said our good-byes, I went with Lori to the Kaufland grocery store to get some things there and also get a bit to eat. In the evening I watched “America’s Got Talent” which has become one of my favourite TV shows. I chatted with some friends and I also spoke to my Mom on Skype before I went to bed to tell her what happened today.
