I went to Sabolciu with Mircea and Salomea from 11:00am – 1:00pm. We had a really great time with the kids! The first half of our time there we had “free time” to just spent time with the children outside. The second half of our time in the village we went into the church where we coloured a picture of Jesus holding children and the kids memorized the scripture verse from Matthew 19:14 – “Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” The kids did great at memorizing the Bible verse!
I went to the orphan chapel this afternoon from 2:00 – 4:00pm. It was great to see some of the older orphan kids that I have been building relationships with lately. We had a great time singing worship songs and we sang some of my favourite songs too!
After we sang Dan showed pictures of the Nazi concentration camp from their trip to Poland that he and Tabita recently went to for their two week vacation in Austria and Poland. It was interesting for me to see how interested the kids were, they were so attentive in everything that Dan told them about the pictures and the room was so silent the whole time. I’m assuming it was the first time they heard a lot about it.
In the evening I relaxed at home. I saw a great movie while I ate my dinner. The movie is called “Just Wright”. I have been listening to K-Love Christian radio station on the internet a lot lately. The DJs have been talking a lot about making a difference in a million lives as a National Day of Service to honour those who have fallen by encouraging people to love and bless others on the 10th anniversary of 9/11. I signed up today on their website. Will you be one of the million people to make a difference?
This is a great song called “You Lead” by Jamie Grace.
