I’m so excited that a new season of the TV show “The Amazing Race” starts in 3 more weeks! This is one of my all time favourite TV shows! I can’t wait until it starts again!

Today I had a great day! I went to church this morning. It was wonderful to talk to some of the people that I met at the retreat last week.  Some of the people weren’t at church that I met at the retreat but for those that were it was great to see them again. It totally makes a difference if you know some people at church because you feel more at home.

I decided to go to the “Jesus Culture” concert with my home church (it will be in Budapest on October 2nd). I also found out there will be a Decean concert in Oradea which is the city I live in. The concert will be on September 23th and the tickets are only 10 RON (around $3). Both bands are really great worship bands so they will both be great concerts! I’m very excited to worship with thousands of other Christians!

In the afternoon I went to the Sabolciu gypsy village from 4:00 – 6:30pm. Every Sunday

Church in Sabolciu

afternoon Dan and Steve do a church service with the adults and Dan’s wife Tabita goes and some other people to help with the kids. Sometimes I go on Sundays but recently I decided to commit to going every Sunday because I really want to spend a lot more time with the children. Today we had a whole van load go to the village – Dan, Tabita, Steve, Salomea, Ibi, Eva, Gheza and I.

We had a really, really great time with the children! Dan and Steve invited the children into the church for the first time for the first half of the church service for the time of worship. It was great to worship God together with the children and some of the ladies from the village. Dan played the guitar and Salomea played the drums. The children loved the instruments!

The rest of our time at the village while the service continued on we took the children to

The kids splashing in the river!

the river for a time for them to splash in the water. The kids had a blast but it’s really too bad a lot of them didn’t wear their new swimsuits that they got in June when I got back to Romania. The spot we were at was too deep for the younger kids to go in but the older kids had a great time jumping in the river. Afterwards I had a great bonding moment with Maria and Lensi as we walked back to the village holding hands. Oh, I love those moments!!

I had a nice relaxing evening at home. I worked on my blog and watched this two hour special on TV about the rebuilding of ground zero in New York City. I was quite amazed to see all that they are doing there in New York City! For the 10th year anniversary they will have a beautiful memorial with all the people who died on 9/11 and there will be a water fountain inside the two memorials. These two memorials are also built right where the old World Trade Centre buildings were as well. This will be ready and opened next week on September 11th.

There will also be a memorial museum that will open up next year, a brand new World Trade building that will open up in 2013 and a brand new subway station that will open up in 2014. It will be like a new beginning for the people who live in New York City and this is probably what they all need especially after what happened on September 11, 2001.
