“Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everyone, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat”. – By Mother Teresa
This afternoon from 3:00 – 5:00pm I helped out with the younger orphan kids club for a couple of hours. Today was the first day that I started helping out with this club and I’ll help out every Friday afternoons. We had 12 children between the ages of 3 – 11 years old. They were all so cute and sweet! I had a lot of fun with the kids! We played games, sang songs, Tabita told them a Bible story, we coloured and did puzzles together.
There are quite a lot of new younger kids that came to the orphanage this past summer so this is a new club that we started just last week. I do not know many of the new kids’ names but I hope to learn their names soon and get to know them as well. It is really my passion to love on them and to show them Jesus’ love. I would appreciate your prayers as I start to develop these new relationships with the younger orphan children. Thanks!
In the evening from 7:00 – 9:00pm I went to the older orphan kid’s chapel. There were not many kids there today but the kids that were there seemed very attentive and interested in the chapel. Dan led us into a great time of praise and worship. Then Dani taught on Mark 1:1-20. He did a great job as he took the kids through each verse and got individual kids to read out aloud the verses. I am so glad that we have an outlet for the older kids/young adults to have an opportunity to hear about God each week.
