Sunday November 6, 2011

This morning I went to Viată Nouă (New Life) church. It was a good service but unfortunately I hardly understood the sermon. The worship was really great and I think it was the first time in a long time that I felt like I was really able to focus much more which was just awesome! I still don’t feel like I have very many close friends there and it doesn’t feel like family to me so sometimes it is not always enjoyable to go there.

I decided to go to the international church this afternoon at 2:30pm since I was not able to go to Sabolciu today and I’m sure glad I did go because God did something incredible in my life today! The service was around two hours with the worship and the sermon. Harold preached a good message on having the right attitude. I actually heard him preach this sermon before at the all night prayer meeting back in September but it was great to hear it again.

Something he said really struck me was to learn to wake up in the morning and say to yourself “today is going to be a good day”. It struck me because I need to really to start my day with a positive attitude and then I got my thoughts in the right direction for the beginning of the day. I had a good talk with Harold about my struggles with my thoughts and how it affects my attitude. He told me that it is really a battlefield of the mind. He also encouraged me to pray and ask God to help me with this.

After the service some of us went to the other church location for a time of more fellowship, prayer and communion. It was so neat to pray for people on our right as we stood in a circle. The time there was amazing! The prayer time was powerful and God’s presence was so strong. It was just awesome and way beyond what I could put into words.

After the prayer time was over the woman who prayed for me wanted to tell me something and what she told me I totally did not expect to hear at all. I was just speechless as she described the word of knowledge/prophetic word that she received from God while she prayed for me. I guess I was just surprised because I don’t receive words from God like that very often. Though now it got me thinking to start expecting it more because God really does want to speak to His children!

I can’t even put into words how awesome God is and the joy that He has filled me with when I received this word from Him today! I took time to write it in my journal but I don’t feel it should be publicly shared so I will not write it on my blog because I want to keep it between the Lord and I. I just want you to know though that God is doing amazing things and I believe with all of my heart that He will continue to do more and more amazing things! I am so very grateful that I feel at home with this church and I’m thankful that it feels like family to me too.

I had a relaxing evening at home. I came home from church to get something to eat and watch one of my favourite TV shows which is Extreme Makeover Home Edition. It was a very good episode and I was so touched by the story that I even cried! What a great show and so very inspiring! I just wish there were more TV shows like this.

I spoke to my Mom for around 30 minutes on Skype before I went to bed. We had a really great conversation and she told me some really great news! Both of my parents will be coming for a visit next year in August and my brother Jonathan will also come too! My parents have already been here but not in the city where I live now. They came for a week in August 2009 when they visited me in Târgu Mures so this will be their first time in Oradea which is very exciting and this will be my brother’s first visit ever to Romania!

I’m really excited because I had prayed for a long time for my brother to come but I didn’t want to pressure him or anything like that to come to Romania but I wanted it to be his own decision. It will be really great for all of them to see where I live now, meet the staff I’m working with now and meet the kids too! I’d like also travel somewhere in Romania or in Hungary too while they are here. I’m sure it will be an amazing time!
