Late this morning I wanted to try and see if I could watch the TV show “The Amazing Race” because yesterday I had a terrible time trying to watch it when the player on the website I watched was slow and my computer shut off twice without warning. Then when I tried to watch the TV show today my computer shut off again without warning. I was very, very frustrated because this is one of my favourite TV shows and I really wanted to watch it.
I thought it might have been overheating which I thought was quite strange because I have a cooling fan that sits underneath my computer. I finally decided to call someone who I know who is good with computers. He recommended that I take it to this repair shop and get it cleaned up from all of the dust and other stuff that might have clogged up the fan inside the computer system.
I went to the store around 2:00pm. The store is called “Material Computer” and is located in the centre of the city behind the old theatre. I am so glad that I had no communication problems. I told them that my computer has been shutting off without warning and I think it has been overheating so it might need to be cleaned. They told me that yes it probably needs to be cleaned. They told me they can do that but it has to be left at the store and I can pick it up tomorrow. I told them that is fine because it really needed to be done and left my computer with them.
I have to say it definitely felt strange to go home without my computer and be without a computer the rest of the day but at least my computer will finally be cleaned up! I am very thankful that I can get my computer taken care of so hopefully it will be as good as new when I get it back tomorrow! Now I just need to figure out how I’m going to spend my evening because I usually spent it at my computer chatting, watching TV or other stuff.
Around noon today I called the veterinary clinic for Minnie. The person who I spoke to told me that she already spoke to my friend about me and just told me to come to the clinic at 5:00pm. My cat’s first vet experience in Oradea was not very pleasant one at all. I felt so bad for her because she was in a lot of stressed. I took her out in her carrier. I decided to take a taxi there but I had to walk 5 minutes to the taxi stand which was not a good start for Minnie because of all of the noises from outside with the people, the cars and the trams.
Then it was getting a taxi. The first taxi driver told me that he was allergic to cat hair and
then the second driver told me that he could only take me with my cat if I put her in the trunk. I really should have refused and took another taxi but at that point I was starting to get stressed and I felt desperate to get there so I did it anyway. I really felt horrible and I felt like I was going to cry because Minnie cried all the way there with this desperate loud cry so I’m sure it was quite a traumatic experience for her. I will never put her in the trunk again no matter what!
The visit at the vet also was not very pleasant for Minnie my cat either because she was already quite stressed from her ride there. I told the vet that was concerned that she lost a bit of weight so she did a full examination. The vet was surprised that I haven’t been to the vet in quite a while. I didn’t really know what to say to that. The doctor told me that she looked very healthy.
The vet tried to give her medicine in a pill form to treat my cat for worms but Minnie was so stressed out that it was just pointless to try and get her to swallow the pill so Minnie got it in a vaccination instead. The vet told me to give her the pill at home tomorrow which will be a double action treatment against worms.
The vet asked me what kind of food my cat has been eating. I told her Whiskers and this
other brand. She also asked me if she eats anything else. I told her that sometimes I give her ham. She told me that is a big no, no and I cannot give her ham anymore because it is poisonous as well as other meats (especially spicy food). I felt horrible when I found that out because Minnie loves ham and now I can’t even give it to her anymore!
A couple of things I am thankful for: the two doctors at the clinic were kind and they both spoke English; it is not expensive to go to the vet in Romania which is a huge blessing because in Canada it is much more expensive and I had a nicer taxi driver to drive me back home and I was able to sit in the back of the cab with my cat.
I had relaxing evening at home and the rest of the day Minnie pretty much slept quite a lot. I decided to call my friend Cristina (she is a very close friend who lives in Târgu Mures). We talked for a while so it was nice to catch up. I also read the book I recently starting reading called “Breaking Free” by Beth Moore. It is a very good and I highly recommend it!
