This afternoon I went to the Săbolciu gypsy village with Mircea. Norbi is off the rest of the week so Mircea and I just went. It was really great to see the kids today! Today we practice for the Christmas program with a group of the children in the church. We taught them “E Craciun” (It’s Christmas) and “Jingle Bells”. These are two of the songs that we will sing at the Christmas party when the team will be here in December. The kids did really well with practicing the songs and one of the girls already memorize her poem that she’ll say at the program. I was quite impressed!
In the evening I went to the first service of the first national fire conference. The international church that I have been going to since September is hosting it. The church is under “The Redeemed Christian Church of God” which is a pretty large church in Africa and across the globe. We had a great turn out for the first service!
There were many people that travelled in from all over Romania for the weekend conference. Some of the cities people came from are: Timisoara, Cluj, Târgu Mures, Brasov, and Bucharest and even as far as Constanta. The interesting thing was that the majority of the people who travelled in for the weekend weren’t Romanians but were Africans (mostly from Nigeria). They were mostly young adult age either missionaries or university students (the majority of them were medical students) and some were Pastors too.
The service was awesome! The worship time was incredible and boy do the Africans really know how to worship God! They can really move and have rhythm! It was great to be able to worship the Lord in both English and Romanian too. The main speaker for the weekend flew in from Nigeria and he brought a really great message today about the theme of the conference – “Come Up Higher”. What a great evening at church and a great day!
