Today was the first day with the team from St. Petersburg, Florida and it was just

Dalia, Angelica, Soneta and Andreea.

awesome! It is a small team of only seven people but everyone is just amazing on this team. I really believe that God has chosen each person on this team to be here in Romania for this outreach and just to see all the different gifts that God has placed in each team member is just amazing!

In the morning we went to the Săbolciu gypsy village and the kids were so excited that a new team was there! We had a program for the children at the church and I think the whole village came out which was just awesome! We sang some songs, the team did a puppet show for the kids that shared the story of “The Good Samaritan” (Luke 10:25 -37) and then we did a craft. The craft we did was decorating ornaments to hang on the Christmas tree. The children had a lot of fun and they also did a great job too! Everyone is very excited for the Christmas party that we’ll be doing on Wednesday (December 7th).

In the afternoon we went to the orphanage to spend time with the children there. The team did a puppet show for the kids to share the story of “The Good Samaritan” and we did a craft as well. We decorated the ornaments for the Christmas tree that we will hang up for their party next week and we also did another craft too where we made a colour chain to wrap around the tree. The kids seemed to have a lot of fun and they are also excited for their Christmas party next Friday (December 9th)!

It was a great first ministry day with the team. I’m sure they are pretty tired from flying in yesterday so I’m sure they will have a restful evening at the House of Joy where they are staying this week. I am sure looking forward to discovering what’s in the container as we will start unloading it tomorrow!

About Andrea

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go. I also love cats too and I have a cat of my own named Minnie!
