Today I had quite an early start to my day as I had to get up at 4:30am. I was very exhausted when I got out of bed because I don’t think I had any sleep at all.  I think Minnie my cat was quite confused when I got out of bed at that time and left in such a hurry especially because it was still dark at that time. I just hate leaving my cat even for a couple of days. My poor cat! Oh well, this is life but I’m so glad that my friend Eva will be taking care of my cat while I’ll be away.

When I arrived at the train station my friends Stefan, Dana, Daniel and Simona were already there waiting for me. They already bought their tickets so I went ahead and bought mine. We left Oradea at 5:07am and we arrived in Timisoara at 9:16am. It was a long four hour train ride but I think mostly because we were all tired. I tried to sleep a bit but I couldn’t so I ended up just talking to my friends and listening to music.

When we got to Timisoara we took a bus to the Agape church which is where the conference was held and then we figured out what we wanted to do for the rest of the day. Stefan, Dana and I all decided we needed a good nap so we went to the homes where we stayed during the conference and Daniel and Simona decided to go sightseeing around the city.

During the time I stayed in Timisoara I stayed with Simona at an apartment in the city which was owned by one of the families from the church. Stefan and Dana stayed at another family’s home (they are married) and Daniel stayed at another place.  I definitely had lots of opportunities to practice my Romanian during the time I was in Timisoara because Simona doesn’t know English so it was great to be forced to speak in Romanian. I really enjoyed staying with Simona throughout the time we were there.

I am so thankful that I was able to have a nap during the afternoon because I felt just exhausted from not sleeping the night before and then travelling on the train for four hours. The first service of the conference started at 6:00pm so we were at the church around 4:30pm for the registration but before that we got a bite to eat at the mall.

Every year the Agape church in Timisoara has an annual conference called “Un Lucru” (translation – One Thing). The theme of the conference is based on the scripture verse from Psalm 27:4 “One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.”

The first service of the conference was just awesome! The Decean worship band came to the church to open up the conference and the worship time was incredible! In September I went to a Decean concert which was good but it definitely wasn’t as amazing compared to how it was like today! It was probably because in September people went to the concert for just a “concert” compared to today the people at the church really came to worship God with all of their hearts and the atmosphere at church was just filled with abandoned hearts after God.

What an incredible difference it makes when you are surrounded by people who really want to worship God! Today I felt just so free; it was just awesome to lose myself during the worship time and just to totally focus on God!! I know and believe the rest of the time at the conference will also be an amazing time in God’s presence too!

One thing that is so great about having the conference at this church is at the Agape church every summer they have a school of worship so at this church they really knows how to worship God which is just awesome! Oh, God is so worthy of all of our worship!!!
