“Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteous, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”. Matthew 5:10
This morning I went to the Săbolciu gypsy village from 10:00am – 12:30pm. I went with
Dan, Tabita, Norbi, Mircea, Salomea, Steve, Jim and Teresa. It was wonderful to serve with everyone who works and volunteers with the foundation including our visitors for the week! We all had such a great morning together with the families and children in the village. When we arrived there was a beautiful blanket of snow that covered the village so I just had to take a picture before we walked down the hill!
When I was at Săbolciu, the Lord filled me with new joy today when I was there! I smiled and laughed so much when I was in the village as I interacted with everyone there. Everyone had a blast before and after the service when we played in the snow. I have to admit it was a lot of fun to throw snow balls at the kids and they enjoyed it too as they also made a pretty good effort to get me back! This winter has been very mild so far and today was probably the first time that we got this much snow so we all definitely enjoyed it!
We had such an amazing service at the church in the village today! It was probably the first
time we had a good amount of children at the church however we didn’t have any special program for the children which was probably the first time we just had a regular service. Even though we didn’t have any special program for the children at the church today I was amazed how well behaved they were through the whole service as we sang worship songs, listened to the word of God as Steve preached from Acts 1 & 2 and then we prayed at the end.
It was truly an awesome time today as I spent time with the children and families at Săbolciu and also as we spent time in God’s presence at the church too! After our time in the village all of us decided to go to the mall to eat lunch together at KFC which was such a blessing and it was the last time to be all together with Jim and Teresa as well. It was also a nice treat to eat at KFC because I don’t eat there very often.
Then I went to the international church for the afternoon service that started at 2:30pm.
It was such a great service as we worshipped together and heard God’s word. I just love how there was a beautiful atmosphere of God’s presence at that service! It was also a blessing to go to this church today because I cannot go there usually on Sundays since I go to Săbolciu in the afternoons so when I can go it’s a real treat!
In the evening I completed a really, really great book called “Always Enough” by Rolland and Heidi Baker. The book is about how they founded Iris Ministries in Mozambique and how God has started a precious revival movement that is still going on today and the revival was ignited through simple children who were abandoned. I got so much out of this book, I was inspired and I just could hardly put it down! I’d like to highly recommend it to everyone to read.
Here is a quote from the book “Always Enough” that I just finished reading: “Let Him
(Jesus) love you. It’s so much simpler than we thought. It’s time to be transformed by His love so that there is no fear in you. Be wrecked for everything but His presence. Be so utterly abandoned in His love”.
Then before I went to bed I had a really great conversation with my Mom on Skype which was so uplifting to my spirit. I just feel so encouraged by God how supportive she is with me serving as a missionary and the opportunity that God is clearly leading me to do later this year. It has been so awesome to see the beautiful transformation that God has done in my Mom’s heart over the last few years of me serving God as a missionary! God is sooooo good!!! Oh, what an amazing day that God has given me!
