“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit”.
2 Corinthians 3:17 – 18
“Are you needy? Are you thirsty? Are you hungry? Are you desperate for Jesus? Are you someone who feels as if you may just die unless God shows up? Or do you have a mind-set like many in the Western world – having a middle-class kind of heart? Are you someone who thinks, “Yeah, whatever, God will either do it or He won’t, so it doesn’t matter?” – Heidi Baker
Today I started reading another book called “Compelled by Love” which is written by Heidi Baker. The book gives you a glimpse of total dependence and authentic Christian community by taking a fresh look at the Beatitudes from Matthew 5:1-12. The quote that I wrote is from the first chapter on “Blessed are the Poor in Spirit”. I don’t really remember reading a book based on the Beatitudes before so this book I’m sure will definitely teach me a lot because I already learned quite a lot from the first chapter. I’m very thankful that my parents have blessed me with this book for Christmas!
This evening I went to church. What an awesome service it was to be in God’s presence as we worshipped together, prayed and heard God’s word! I can’t wait for tomorrow’s all night prayer meeting with my church which will start at 10:00pm and will run until maybe even 3 or 4am! I know and believe that tomorrow night the Lord will do great things!! Oh, I’m so thirsty and hungry for Jesus to the point of desperation!
