“Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths”.
Proverbs 3:5 -6 (AMP)
Today I had quite a busy day! In the morning I spent some time with God, then the orphan mentoring project and then to end the day I went to an all night prayer meeting. I got quite the shock today when I met Dani to go to the younger orphan club. I asked him if Tabita was off work today because she told me to call him instead to arrange the meeting time and place with Dani so I was curious. Then Dani told me that Tabita doesn’t work with us anymore. When I heard that I was speechless because I was so shocked!
Then Dani went on to say that she got a visa for the States and will be leaving soon. We had
to pick up Dan and Tabita on the way so I asked them more about this. They told me that Tabita won a lottery resident visa for the States and she will be leaving on Monday. I was even more surprised when I heard that she is not only leaving us but so soon! A bit later on between the younger orphan club and the chapel I spoke to Dan more about it. He told me that they both applied for visas but Tabita only got one so Dan will try to get his visa again and move to the States after the orphan camp.
Wow, I really had no idea that Tabita will be leaving us and then eventually Dan too! What a shocker! They are both amazing with the orphan kids and Dan also teaches / preaches at the church service at the Săbolciu gypsy village on Sunday afternoons. It will definitely be very different without them here and they will be missed for sure however I’m sure that God has great plans for them both in the States.
The younger orphan club was really great! Today we had the younger orphan kids from ages 3 – 9 years old. They are so incredibility cute!! We had a lot of fun together. There were eleven children that came today. We told them a Bible story (Daniel and the Lions Den), sang some songs, had some free play time with toys and games and at the end enjoyed pineapple for our snack (I think all of them ate pineapple for the first time!). I am very grateful for the really great bonding time that God gave me with the children today!
For the older kid’s chapel it also went really well except I think the kids were quite tired
because a couple of them looked really sleepy. We started the chapel off by singing some praise and worship songs, then Steve shared some of his stories from a couple of his previous short-term mission trips in Africa and Ecuador (they loved the stories!), then Dan shared this week’s message from Mark 5:21 – 43 and then we ended our time with prayer.
After the orphan chapel I went to church for an all night prayer meeting at the international church where I have been going since September of last year. The meeting started at 10:00pm and officially ended at 4:00am. In Canada I have never been to an all night prayer meeting before but here in Romania people are hungry for God as around 70 of us packed in a small room. It was an awesome six hour prayer meeting with only a 20 minute break at midnight as we prayed and worshipped God together.
It was such a blessing to be surrounded by people who are hungry for the Lord. During the prayer ministry time I asked one of my friends if he could pray for me. One of the things that has been burning on my heart is for God to bring revival to the gypsy village where I work and for the Lord to use me. As soon as he placed his hands on my head and started praying for me the presence of God came on me so strong. I just want to praise God for touching me and filling me with His glory in such a special way. All the glory goes to God and Him alone!
Wow, what an incredible day that was to spend time with the orphan children and spend the night in God’s glorious presence with Christians who are hungry after God!
