“Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the ages. Who will not fear you, O Lord, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.”                                                                – Revelation 15:3b – 4

This evening I went to the store quickly to get a few things. I decided to just leave my computer on because I just wanted to make a fast errand and then get back home. When I returned home I noticed my parents tried to call me on Skype but since I wasn’t home they wrote me a message saying “where are you?” which was at 8:15pm. I also got an e-mail from them that was pretty concerning too. They basically said “where are you? We tried to call you on Skype but you didn’t answer. Please call us on Skype immediately because it’s very important.”

When I read that e-mail from my parents I knew right away that something was wrong so I called my parents right away on Skype. My heart was torn when I spoke to my Mom on Skype because I never expected to have the kind of conversation like I did. I was so shocked that I was speechless. At the beginning of our conversation I had no idea what was happening because my Mom was so emotional that she could hardly speak. I honestly thought someone died or something seriously happened with the family before she told me what was going on.

When my Mom finally got out her words I was so shocked that I was speechless. My Mom told me that Libby (she is one of our cats) is at the cat hospital right now. My response was like “What?!” My Mom told me that Libby was not acting like herself on Friday or Saturday morning because she threw up and she hid which is not like her at all. They finally decided to take her to our family’s veterinary but the clinic was closed at 12:00 noon today so the veterinary doctor advised my parents to take Libby to the cat hospital which is in Whitby (the same town where my parents live).

The situation with Libby’s health is very serious. The doctors at the cat hospital did blood work, x-rays, put Libby on an IV (intravenous) because she was so dehydrated so the IV is to try to give her the fluids she needs and she also has to stay there at the hospital until Monday morning. From the x-rays they found out that Libby’s kidneys are failing. One of her kidneys has already failed (the doctors don’t know how long it has been, it could be months or even years) and the other kidney has three kidney stones.

My parents have no idea what will happen or if Libby will make it. They asked me to pray and ask other people to pray that God will heal her and help us with this. I was so shocked when I heard this news because Libby is not even 6 years old yet (she was born in April 2006).

At the end of the conversation I started crying myself as I saw my Mom very teary. I told my parents that I will pray and I will also ask other people to pray too. My heart felt so heavy when I went to bed. It was very hard for me to fall asleep. I just kept thinking about Libby and how my Mom is handling it because I know she is very close to Libby. When I lied in bed I also cried and prayed to God for His help. I also know understand why this is happening and why now.

My family and I would really appreciate your prayers at this time. Here is a picture of us with our cats when I was home for the Christmas holidays in December 2009. My Mom is holding Libby and my Dad is holding our other cat Grace. Thanks so much for your prayers!

By the way today I finally signed up for a twitter account so if you’re on twitter my user name is “AndreaWeber7”. If you have twitter please let me know and we can connect there, thanks!
